We have responded to the electronicization of consumption tax duty-free shops at foreign diplomatic missions in Japan.
At Comptoine Yoyogi, a watch and jewelry boutique, you can take advantage of the consumption tax exemption system available to diplomats and other employees of foreign embassies.
This system, based on the Special Taxation Measures Act, exempts foreign embassies, diplomats, etc. who meet certain conditions from paying consumption tax on purchases made at stores designated by the Commissioner of the National Tax Agency.
Those eligible for tax exemption are the following people who have been issued a "tax exemption card" by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Diplomats, consular officers, administrative and technical staff, staff of international organizations, embassies, consulates general, consulates, and international organization secretariat offices.
