Nanis' traditional technique "Thread Polishing"
Each piece of NANIS jewelry is carefully finished by hand by an artisan. Smooth surfaces, delicate carvings, and a polished shine. All of these processes are brought to life by the hands of the artisan. Jewelry comes in a variety of shapes, some with sharp edges, some with soft curves, some flat, and some with gaps that are difficult to reach. Finishing jewelry, especially those with delicate parts, is an extremely difficult task.
Particularly challenging is polishing those hidden areas and recessed corners that cannot be reached with a regular brush, so we turned to centuries of jewellery tradition and discovered the ancient technique of thread polishing.
This method is simple yet extremely effective. Using a cotton thread, the desired polishing area is polished slowly, little by little, like water droplets scraping a rock. The thread is slid back and forth while applying pressure, patiently repeating this process until the desired shine is achieved. It is a meticulous process that requires time to create beauty, and is only possible with a skilled craftsman.
NANIS jewelry is painstakingly crafted with the utmost care and attention. It embodies the passion of artisans and the warmth of handwork that machines cannot produce. This is one of the proofs that NANIS is a top Italian brand.
