Comptoine: The revival of watch and jewelry repair techniques

The name Contévanou is a combination of the vintage decorative technique known as "Continuous Concept," which connects the bracelet to the case, a design famously seen on the Patek Philippe 3588/2, and the feminine noun "Où il ya un comptoir de travail," the location of a work desk.
When finishing the circular grain decorations on watch jewelry, it takes several days of hard work, sitting at a desk for long periods of time and carefully working by hand with a chisel, just like finishing a knitted item.
Decorations made by machine or lathe are the same as knitting made by a sewing machine, and compared to decorations made by chisels or by artisans, there will be visible roughness.

Our concept is to perfect the mundane task of "Continuous Concept."


Even when simply changing a battery, we predict the condition of the circuit board based on the watch's manufacturing condition and age, and determine whether a battery replacement will fix the problem, whether a circuit board replacement is necessary, and whether there is a current leak. We assess various factors and immediately begin work. We understand the damage to the mechanism caused by contact with water, air, and skin, and work to minimize the impact on the original as much as possible. If the waterproof gasket is damaged, we add oil again to maintain the watch's original waterproof performance, or obtain permission to replace the gasket and improve water resistance, and then carry out the entire process of a single battery replacement.

"Continuous Concept" means never compromising and always doing the job perfectly, pursuing perfection through continuous work.

We handle all of our work, from watch overhauls and polishing to engraving and jewelry repairs, like threading a needle.However, Comptoine is never pretentious and always carries out its work with care, keeping in mind that we are a local repair shop.
