The reissue model features a redesigned version of the original 1960s waterproof mechanism, the Parmentier Crown, which prevents water from entering through the crown.

Unlike regular screw-down crowns, the Parmentier crown uses an internal structure to prevent water from entering around the crown. It was not a screw-lock mechanism, but rather a mechanism that sought to balance operability and airtightness, and was considered revolutionary in the 1960s.
