CZAPEK appears!
Comptoine, the official watch dealer, stocks RAYMOND WEIL, Tutima Glashütte, MINASE, and other brands, and sells watches that we can confidently recommend to collectors. It has been about three months since we opened in September, and we are now gradually increasing our product lineup!
Starting in November, a new luxury watch brand, CZAPEK, will be available at Comptoine!
To commemorate joining CZAPEK, we would like to tell you about the history and appeal of CZAPEK.
Whether you already know about CZAPEK or not, please bear with me for a moment.
CZAPEK History
CZAPEK was founded by Francois Czapek.
François Czapek and Antoine Norbert de Patek founded a joint venture called Patek Czapek & Co. in 1839. This brand would later become PATEK PHILIPPE.
After six years of contracting, in 1845, Czapek founded the CZAPEK company with a new partner, Juliusz Grzewski.
In 1850, the brand produced the pocket watch No. 3430, which became the brand's iconic design, and was loved by the aristocracy, eventually becoming the official watchmaker for Napoleon III. The company opened boutiques in Geneva and at the Place Vendôme in Paris.
The CZAPEK company enjoyed great prosperity, but in 1869 CZAPEK disappeared and the brand went dormant for a time.
In 2012, Xavier de Roquemaurel, Harry Goulet and watchmaker Sébastien Foronnier came together to revive CZAPEK, and from 2015 to 2016, with the help of over 100 watch enthusiasts from around the world, CZAPEK was revived.
The appeal of CZAPEK
CZAPEK purchases parts such as hands, dials, and cases from each manufacturer and assembles them. CZAPEK creates the highest quality watches by purchasing and combining parts from each supplier with the highest level of technology in the canton of Neuchâtel. Parts are made under a strong relationship of trust through joint development and long-term transactions with suppliers.
The cases and dials have a unique and beautiful worldview. CZAPEK's iconic series, the Quai des Bergs, is made up of relaxed, classic models reminiscent of underwater watches.
CZAPEK is handmade by highly skilled artisans, so the number of units produced each year is limited.
