CZAPEK's hand-wound watch, the Quai des Bergs Sapphire Blue, has a limited edition model!
Czapek & Cie's first collection, the Quai des Bergues (Sapphire Blue ), is a symbol of the brand. Did you know that this model is available in limited editions in different sizes?
This model was originally released with a diameter of 42.5mm, but there is also an S size with a diameter of 38.5mm, limited to 100 pieces.
Both sizes are designed to fit snugly on the wrist like a pocket watch, and their relaxed, smooth round shape and beautiful curves express pure beauty.
In recent years, downsized, smaller watches have become popular, and it seems that the S size wins out in terms of how it fits comfortably on the wrist.
Of course, the L size also has its merits. The S size has a simple polished case side, but the L size is roomier and has a sandblasted stretcher. It features CZAPEK's unique "Revolution" case.
The dial is a "Franke" dial, finished using a technique that combines guilloche stamping and enameling.
The guilloché is then ricocheted in an original design (a motif inspired by the ripples of stones splashing across a lake) and a thick "moiré" enamel is applied by Donze Cadrans in Le Locle, also known for Ulysse Nardin, among others. Finally, the enamel is hardened by firing at over 800°C, a process that is repeated several times until the right shade is achieved.
The size of these guilloche patterns and the placement of the indexes vary slightly depending on the size.
At Comptoine, we offer both models so that you can experience the difference for yourself.
